University of Limerick has most new sign ups to 'Sugar Daddy' dating site

More and more Irish students are seeking help to pay college fees.

THE UNIVERSITY OF LIMERICK is the fastest growing ‘Sugar Baby’ college in Ireland, with 93 female students signing up last year for ‘Sugar Daddy’ arrangements to help them pay third level fees.

New figures released by Sugar Daddy website SeekingArrangement.com reveal more and more Irish students are turning to Sugar Daddies (“wealthy benefactors”) to help them pay rent and transportation fees.

The number of Irish students signed up to the site has increased by 17% in the last year.

DIT comes in second place with 81 sign-ups, while UCD has 79 students seeking Sugar Daddies.

Trinity College Dublin has the most Sugar Babies signed up to the site, with 397 students seeking a Sugar Daddy.
SeekingArrangement.com calls the Sugar Daddy-Sugar Baby relationship a “mutually beneficial arrangement” – meaning both parties lay out what they expect from the relationship, and what they can provide in return.

Spokesperson for the site Angela Jacob Bermudo told DailyEdge.ie that the Sugar Daddies want a relationship that can fit their schedule:

It’s created to suit the lifestyle of the Sugar Daddy. He says he can only see her one day a week, or only on weekends…It’s all laid out at the start of the relationship.

The average Sugar Daddy gives €6,200 monthly in cash and gifts to pay for housing expenses and transportation. In return, the Sugar Babies accompany them on work functions, dates, and trips away.

A lot of the Sugar Daddies actually want to be mentors. They take great satisfaction in moulding these young ladies and preparing them for the real world.

The men seek young, attractive women who “understand their needs” in a relationship, and who also have the social skills to accompany them on dates and trips. A “very small percentage” of the men are married, the rest are divorcées or lifetime bachelors.

The Sugar Daddy-Sugar Baby relationship is not necessarily sexual, but sex isn’t completely off-limits:

If the relationship moves on to a stage where they are comfortable enough to be intimate with each other, then maybe. But it’s not required.
